Conwy Castle Photos

Conwy Castle (late 13thC) was built by King Edward I & is one of the 17 he constructed to consolidate his conquest of Wales. The exceptionally well preserved castle is situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. It is noted for its four perfectly round towers. Its water gate provided safe entry for English boats into the hostile territory of conquered Wales.
