Pergamon Tiles Photos

The Ishtar Gate & Processional Way (604-562 BCE) from Babylon are in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin. These art works are built from sculpted ceramic tiles most of which have been reassembled from shards. Other examples of this Mesopotamia art showing lions & other mythical beasts are also found in other museums.
