Joan of Arc & Charles VII Photos

Joan of Arc (1412 -31) (Jeanne d'Arc aka Maid of Orleans) was burned at the stake at age 19 on charges of heresy for her role in the liberation of France from the English King.
  • As a youth in Domremy, Joan had religious visions telling her to free France from English control & restore Charles VII as French King.
  • March 1429: Joan went to Chinon to convince Charles VII to act.
  • May 8, 1429: Joan lead French soldiers to Orleans & inspired them to Victory over the English.
  • July 17, 1429: Joan attended coronation of Charles VII in Reims Cathedral.
  • May 23, 1430: Joan captured by English in Compiègne & taken to Rouen for interrogation.
  • May 30, 1431: Joan burned at stake in Rouen marketplace.
