Rhine River - Mainz to Koblenz Photos

The Rhine River, which flows from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea, offers several scenic sections. This page featues the section from Mainz to Koblenz in Germany. Highlights include the picturesque towns of Bacharach & St. Goar/Goarshausen as well as the Loreley, a rocky spur towering above a narrow part of the river. This section of the Rhine, dotted with many castles plus views of river traffic & express trains on both banks, can be toured as a day trip either by car or tour boat.
