Kingston & Queenstown, New Zealand Photos

Kingston is a historic town at the tip of Lake Wakatipu. The antique steam train at the old rail station reflects the Gold Rush era when travelers transferred from a lake ferry to the train to reach their destination. Queenstown, set on Lake Wakatipu, is best known as a center of adventure tourism. Arrowtown (20km NE of Queenstown) is a well-preserved mid-19thC gold miners' settlement.
