St Nicholas Art Photos

St Nicholas of Bari (aka Nicolas, Bishop of Myra) (died c350) is patron saint of mariners, depicted with ship model. He is also noted for giving his wealth to the poor. In one case, he saved three young women from prostitution, by tossing 3 bags of gold for dowries into their house. Santa Claus is derived from his story.
