St Bartholomew, Apostle Art Photos

St Bartholomew Apostle (Martyred 69) Little is known of Bartholomew's life, but he is identified as an Apostle of Jesus by many sources. He may have preached in Asia Minor, Armenia, India, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. According to tradition he was martyred by being flayed and beheaded in Armenia.

Attrib. Flensing knife in hand; section of flayed skin (as he was skinned alive); book or scroll.
