Gateleg Tables Photos

Gateleg tables expand with swing-up hinged leaves and have extra legs which swing outward like gates to support more weight. Gateleg tables are like drop leaf tables which have a different mechanism for supporting weight. In general gateleg tables were invented earlier when weight upon dining tables mattered more. As tables evolved the lighter weight for uses like tea & side tables plus lighter planks of wood made a gateleg support less necessary.
