Grecian Settees Photos

The Grecian inspired style of settee for reclining wherein the arm & back at one end is higher than opposite end. This asymmetric reclining chair was made popular during the French Second Empire (1852-1870). This type of couch is also called Meridienne, "fainting" or Mme. Recamier settees. (Though Recamier models lack backs & are closer to day beds.)
