Weikersheim, Baden-Württemberg Photos

Weikersheim, on the Tauber River in Baden-Württemberg, is best known for its palace (1580-1680) (a reconstructed medieval castle) of the same name. The palace's magnificent Knights' Hall (1603) represents a transition in style between Renaissance and Baroque and is filled with bas-relief portrayals of game animals, carvings, paintings in the coffered ceiling and antique furniture. The semi-circular town market square has retained its 18thC look.
