Trier Cathedral, Germany Photos

Trier Cathedral (aka High Cathedral of St. Peter) (opened 1270 with additions over the centuries) is the oldest church in Germany. The Cathedral, built on Roman ruins, perhaps the palace of Emperor Constantine's mother, St. Helena, and an earlier cathedral, includes Early Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque architecture. The Cathedral is a stopping point for pilgrims trekking to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
