Aachen Cathedral Treasury Photos

Aachen Cathedral Treasury (Aachener Domschatzkammer), a UNESCO World Heritage site, houses an important collection of medieval church artworks. The Treasury contains over one hundred artworks from Late Antique, Carolingian, Ottonian (936-1002), Staufen (1138-1254), and Gothic times. The Treasury contents have a tumultuous history, having several times been removed from the Treasury for safekeeping during wars and foreign occupation.
