Speicherstadt, Hamburg Photos

The Speicherstadt (constructed 1883-1927 in Hanseatic Brick Gothic style) is one of the largest warehouse complexes in the world & recognized by UNESCO. The warehouses formed a duty-free zone in the heart of one of Europe's largest ports. Much of the complex survived WWII, and the district encompasses a large network of tall warehouses, canals, streets & bridges.
