Hawaii Statehouse & Palace, Honolulu Photos

The Hawaii Statehouse (1969) is built around a courtyard & surrounded by reflecting pool making it unique among U.S. state capitols. It was designed by Belt, Lemon & Lo + John Carl Warnecke & Assoc. It replaced the royal Iolani Palace (1882) which served the legislature after 1893. Also of note in the legislative complex are the Old Honolulu courthouse (1872), Statues of King Kamehameha I (1883), Queen LiLi'uoka Lani & Father Damien,.
