British Museum - Building Photos

The British Museum main building (1823-47) on Great Russell Street was designed by architect Sir Robert Smirke. Over years, additions to the campus culminated when the original central courtyard with its historic Reading Room was covered with a unique skylight (2003) by architects Norman Foster & Partners. This renovation was renamed Queen Elizabeth Great Court.
