Queen Mary I Photos

Ruled England 19 July 1553 - 17 November 1558. Mary I, the eldest daughter of Henry VIII, became Queen upon the death of Edward VI. Mary was a devout Roman Catholic and determined to return England to that faith. Mary came to be known by some as "Bloody Mary" because she had almost 300 Protestants who resisted burned at the stake.
