Blackness Castle Photos

Blackness Castle (1440s) juts like a ship into the Firth of Forth with views of the Forth bridges. Blackness soon became crown property & served as a prison then an ammunition depot until 1912. It is run as scenic museum by Historic Scotland (HES) and is an easy drive west of Edinburgh in conjunction with Linlithgow, for which Blackness was the port.
