Festival of Britain (1951) Photos

The Festival of Britain (1951) in part celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Crystal Palace Exhibition, but was primarily focused on Britain to show postwar prosperity to support the Labour government. The Festival's centerpiece location was London's South Bank of the Thames plus local London sites. There were also exhibits in Glasgow & Edinburgh plus celebrations and Traveling Exhibits in a number of other UK cities. Royal Festival Hall is the main legacy of the event.
