Col. Simon Perkins Stone Mansion and John Brown House, Akron, OH Photos

The Greek Revival Col. Simon Perkins Stone Mansion (1837) (550 Copley Road) was home to Col. Simon Perkins, son of Akron's founding father. The John Brown House (1830) (Copley Road) is where abolitionist John Brown lived between 1844 and 1846. These museum houses, which are across the street from each other, are both operated by the Summit County Historical Society of Akron, Ohio.
