Sag Harbor Custom House Museum, 912 Main St., Sag Harbor L.I., NY, is restored to depict the residence and office of Henry Packer Dering, the first customs officer appointed in New York State by President George Washington. The house was built in 1765 and purchased by Dering in c1790. The residence is run by Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities.
