Metropolitan Museum of Art - American Hudson River School & Western Artists Photos

The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts examples of a trend to paint American landscapes which started in the 1830s and matured in the 1850s & 60s. Many in the movement lived in the Hudson River Valley, hence the name of the trend. A similar trend the captured the American West.
