Views of Mississippi River & Bridges at St. Louis, MO Photos

St. Louis, MO's Arch and skyline are best viewed from the Mississippi River. Historically the most important bridge was the Eads Bridge (1874) (1,964m / 6,442ft) designed & built by James B. Eads. The Eads bridge made St. Louis the prime American rail crossing and secured the fortune of the city. However, the Eads bridge nearly wasn't built because of the protests of Riverboat owners who didn't want the transport competition.
