Peacefield, Home of John Adams & John Quincy Adams, Quincy, MA Photos

Peacefield was home to President John & Abigail Adams from 1787 and then passed to President John Quincy Adams & wife Louisa Catherine Adams. Adams family descendants resided there until 1946. The National Park Services now operates Peacefield (c1731) as a house museum with most of the original furniture as part of the Adams National Historic Site. The Stone Library (1870) designed by Charles Francis Adams & Edward Clarke Cabot on the grounds of Peacefield contains historic mementos like other Presidential Libraries. John Adams was second US President (1797-1801) who lived (1735-1826). His son John Quincy Adams, sixth US President (1825-1829) lived (1767-1848).
