Longfellow National Historic Site, Cambridge, MA Photos

Poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow restored and lived in a house near the Harvard University campus where he was a professor while collecting and promoting American history. His family maintained this historic house for a century. The house was originally built by John Vassall (1759), and is notable because it served as George Washington's headquarters during the Revolutionary War. The National Park Service now runs the Longfellow National Historic.
