Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston, MA Photos

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is one woman's personal collection comprising antiquities, decorative arts and paintings from Europe and America arranged in her personal style. In 1896 she had a Venetian Palazzo designed by Willard T. Sears built on Fenway Court near the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Its memorable feature is a courtyard under a glass roof with ancient objects integrated into its garden. A 2012 wing designed by Renzo Piano extends the original intent of Mrs. Gardner's will.
