Cahir Castle, Ireland Photos

Cahir Castle started as a Medieval fortification (13th C) on a rocky island of the River Suir. It was expanded (early 17th C) with new structures in a Renaissance style. Run by OPW, it hosts Tudor-era furniture & a portcullis gate. Cahir Castle is noted for its scenic setting in the center of Cahir town.
