Derrynane House, Ireland Photos

Derrynane House (1702) in Derrynane National Park on Ring of Kerry is the ancestral home of Daniel O'Connell, an important leader & politician of the first half of the 19th C. & continues to have the high regard of the Irish people. He was instrumental in achieving Catholic Emancipation in Ireland & fought for repeal of the Act of Union & Irish independence. The house, which is under the management of the OPW, contains many relics of O'Connell's personal life & career.
