Hawaiian Feathered Capes & Symbols of Royalty plus Native Canoes Photos

The use of feathers in artistic capes ('ahu'ula) and royal standards (Kāhili) was reserved for members of the Hawaiian royalty. Another limited royal symbol was the chief's neck ornament (Lei Niho Palaoa), a hook hung on cords of human hair, which is said to resemble fishing hooks. This index also features fishing implements & Hawaiian canoes.
