Wedgwood Caneware (1780s) Photos

Caneware was a style of stoneware vessels designed to look as if they were made of bamboo. Wedgwood first produced such products in 1770 and improved the quality of clay over two decades. Bamboo items were most in fashion during the English Regency period 1800-20. Due to copying in the ceramics industry, do not assume all Caneware is by Wedgwood.
