St Patrick Art Photos

St Patrick (c389-461) is noted for bringing Christianity to Ireland. According to legend he was born in Roman Britain and enslaved in pagan Ireland in his teens. He escaped & studied in a monastery and became a bishop assigned to Ireland. Untrue legends credit him with expelling snakes from Ireland.
Symbols: crosier, serpent & Irish shamrocks or harps.
