George Stubbs Art Photos

George Stubbs (1724-1806) an English painter, best known for paintings of horses and animals. In 1780, Stubbs started an ongoing connection with Josiah Wedgwood (1780-95): 1) Painting Wedgwood family portraits; 2) Creating pottery designs; 3) Painting on large ceramic sheets, in search of a longer lasting substitute for canvass.
