Armistice Rail Car, Compiègne, France Photos

Armistice Rail Car clearing in Compiègne contains an identical rail car & furnishings as used for the signing of the armistices in 1918 at the end of WWI & in 1940 when the French government agreed to the German Occupation of France. Other objects are original to the 1918 German surrender. In revenge, the original rail car was taken to Berlin for display in 1940 & destroyed by the SS as Allied forces approached its storage site in March 1945.
