Chaumont Chateau Photos

Chaumont-Sur-Loire consists of both a Renaissance chateau and elaborate gardens designed annually by competitors from around the world. Catherine de Medicis acquired the Chateau in 1560 to use it as an offer to get her husband's mistress, Diane de Poitiers, out of Chenonceau. While Diane did not move into Chaumont, Catherine did. Chaumont reflects the furnishings of the several generations of subsequent owners.
