Arc du Triomphe du Carrousel Photos

The Arc du Triomphe du Carrousel (1806-8) was designed by Charles Percier & Pierre François Léonard Fontaine to mark several of Napoleon's victories. The horses (1828) atop the Arch are by Baron Francois Joseph Bosio. The original horses were those taken by Napoleon from Venice's Cathedral of Saint Mark but returned there after the defeat of Napoleon's empire.
