Musée Carnavalet (Carnavalet Museum) (1548 & c1660) (23 Rue de Sévigné) aka Museum of the History of Paris provides a comprehensive social history of Paris from the Renaissance through the early part of the 20thC, with emphasis on the Louis XIV period, the French Revolution, belle époque & first years of 20thC. Exhibits include paintings, furnishings, including entire rooms from demolished hotels, mansions & shops and shop signs drawn from various periods.
