King Louis XV Photos

French King Louis 15th (born 1710) reigned 1715-1774. His Queen was Marie Leszczynska of Poland. Under his rule, the monarchy declined due, in part, to his tendency to defer decision making to others. Initially, he and the Queen, who bore him 10 children, had a close relationship. However, in later years, Louis XV had many mistresses, the most famous and influential of which was Madame de Pompadour.
