King Clovis I Photos

French King Clovis I reigned c481-511. First Catholic king. King Clovis I united all the Frankish tribes under one ruler, thereby changing their leadership from a group of chieftains to a single ruler who passed the kingship to his heirs. With the persuasion of his wife, Clotilde, Clovis I converted in 496 to Christianity leading to widespread conversions among the Frankish people.
