Sultan Hassan Mosque, Cairo Photos |
The Sultan Hassan Mosque (1356-63), located in the historic district of Cairo, was built for Mameluke Sultan Hassan el-Nasir in Arab-Egyptian style during the time of Black Plague. Craftsmen from all over the Marluk were attracted to the vast and very expensive building project which may partly account for its diverse and innovative design. |
