Herrenchiemsee New Palace, Germany Photos

Herrenchiemsee New Palace (1878), located on Herreninsel (Gentlemen's Isle) on Chiemsee lake across from the town of Prien am Chiemsee, was the last palace built by King Ludwig II, and only partially completed before his death. The structure was meant to be modeled on the Palace of Versailles near Paris. Highlights include the formal gardens & fountains, the ornately decorated rooms in the completed section, and King Ludwig II museum.
