The Edgar Allan Poe Museum in Richmond, VA, displays history and artifacts of the author's life in the Jacob Ege stone house (c1737), the oldest remaining building in Richmond (1914 E. Main St.). Poe (1809-49) though born in Boston, was taken in by a Richmond family shortly thereafter when his mother died.
