Strand National Historic District, Galveston, TX Photos

The late Victorian port of Galveston controlled the vast wealth of the Texas cotton & other commodity trade. Because the hurricane of 1900 caused such trade to move to more inland ports, downtown Galveston's development around the Strand was arrested & today constitutes a major tourist district of heritage buildings visited by major cruise ships.
