Lyndhurst, Tarrytown, NY Photos

Lyndhurst is one of the signature buildings of architect Alexander Jackson Davis. This Gothic Revival building evolved under three prominent owners: William Paulding (occupant 1830-64) who had Davis build it, George Merritt (occupant 1864-80) who had Davis expand it) & railroad magnate Jay Gould who named it Lyndhurst. The estate is now run by National Trust.
