Shotgun Houses of New Orleans & Architectural Brackets Photos

The shotgun term for a house stems from a style where every room in what is essentially a one-story cottage is directly in a line from front to back so if one were to fire a shotgun in the front door, pellets would go through every room & exit the back door. Most of this style in New Orleans are double shotguns or two such residences joined side by side into a single structure. This style of house incorporate some of the most brightly painted wooden brackets between the walls & roof.
