Illinois Institute of Technology Photos

The Illinois Institute of Technology south of downtown Chicago has heritage buildings dating back to 1891, but the campus is best known for the buildings designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe starting 1945, who taught architecture here. Crown Hall (1950-6) is his landmark work on campus. IIT has however pushed forward with two other innovative buildings: the McCormick Tribune Campus Center by Rem Koolhaas & a student residence by Helmut Jahn.
