Lahaina, Maui Photos

Lahaina, on the west coast of Maui, was the town where whaling ships from New England sought safe harbor, re-supplying & medical treatment while hunting the waters of the North Pacific between the 1820s to 1850s. Missionaries soon arrived & located their school inland, away from the rowdy sailors. Today, Lahaina is noted for its heritage buildings & is the most popular Maui resort area for vacationers staying on Maui.
