Pebble Hill Plantation, Thomasville, GA Photos

Pebble Hill Plantation was the country retreat of the family of Howard Melville Hanna, co-founder of Standard Oil, where horses, dogs & fox hunting were not only the activities, but the themes which pervade the many antique collections & art in the elegant heritage mansion. This museum now hosts visitors to both Thomasville, GA & Tallahassee, FL. The plantation (founded 1827) house dates in part from the 1850 work of John Wind plus the house built after the fire of 1934. The replacement was designed by Abram Garfield, son of President James A. Garfield.
