Confederate Submarine Hunley Photos

Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley was built (1863) at Mobile, Alabama & shipped by rail to Charleston, SC where on February 17, 1864, the Hunley sank the steam sloop USS Housatonic in Charleston harbor. In turn the Hunley sunk, drowning its 8 crewmen.
