Broadway - The Cotswolds Photos

Broadway village, established by the local abbey around 1300, played a role in the English Civil War when Oliver Cromwell stayed at the Lygon Arms Inn before the Battle of Worcester (1651). It is also where Charles I met with his supporters. In more recent times, picturesque Broadway attracted many well known English artists & artisans, particularly Sir Gordon Russell. Today tourists are drawn by its exceptionally wide, tree-lined main street with many shops & restaurants as well as two excellent museums.
