Chimu Culture Art Photos

Chimu culture (1375-1476) on the northern Coast of Peru came to dominate (1375) the former Moche lands but Chimu then gave way to Incan domination in 1476. Chimu ceramics were similar to that of the Moche, but often unpainted or simply black or unicolor. Between Moche and Chimu domination of this northern area, Sican and Lambayeque cultures competed for for Moche land for about 50 years, before the Chimu became the dominant force.
